The exterior of the temple is eight-inch-thick beige concrete made in Salt Lake County by Forterra. The spire is glass fiber reinforced concrete by Unlimited Design in Salt Lake City. The structure of the building is steel with concrete shear walls and concrete floor slabs. A decorative band that wraps around the exterior of the temple includes a mountain design, and Utah Lake wetlands and snowy egrets are represented on the metal panels. Prevalent in the temple are depictions of local flora and fauna including the iris, daisy and chrysanthemum, which are common wildflowers in the area; and birds, reeds and mountains that can all be seen nearby at Utah Lake. The temple will be dedicated in three sessions, by President Henry B. Eyring, who will preside at the dedication.

Eyring, second counselor in the governing First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is scheduled to dedicate the temple Aug. 13. Elder Kevin R. Duncan, a General Authority Seventy and executive director of the church’s Temple Department, said this open house is longer than usual to allow as many people as possible to come and see. The public walk-through is one of multiple open houses being hosted by the church this year, and it's one that's been both much-anticipated and sometimes-maligned by Saratoga Springs residents. Other significant rooms inside the temple include the sealing room and the celestial room. The sealing room is where couples and families have the opportunity to be sealed together not only for time, but for all eternity. Brynley and Taylor Roberts are some of the youth that are helping with the open house.
The font railings are made of antique brass, Sapele African mahogany and glass. The simple linework detail etched around the perimeter of the glass panels was pulled from the decorative paint design. The flooring is a combination of carpet, area rugs, porcelain tile, ceramic tile, glass tile and stone.
Weekend and evening reservations are mostly filled until late June, early July. “It’s a beautiful room but I felt a special spirit in there,” Sister Yee said. The temple was announced in April 2017 by then-President Thomas S. Monson.

The public can view the new temple during an open house period from April 15 to July 8. The Saratoga Springs Temple will be the 179th temple of the Church of Jesus Christ in operation; a total of 315 temples are currently in operation, being built or slated to be built. Brynley said her peers are also excited about the new temple, and they have already had some youth activities at the new temple, including helping with shoe coverings and cleaning the grounds.

There are currently no Utah temples announced and still in planning and design. The Saratoga Springs Utah Temple was announced in April 2017 by then-Church President Thomas S. Monson.
This is the first temple open house and dedication in Utah since 2018, when the Jordan River Temple was rededicated. Elder Duncan said as more temples are completed in Utah, the open house dates may be shorter. She said they walked in the snow and in the sun and anticipated the temple being finished. Ensign Drive, will host private tours for invited guests Tuesday through Friday before opening to the public on Saturday. Tours will be conducted Mondays through Saturdays from April 15 through July 8.
